Like the Ford Mavericks we’ve come to appreciate, the Lobo rides a little lower, is a dynamite street truck and a fun drive,
The 2025 Ford Maverick Lobo AWD revives the street truck vibe with flair, blending compact utility with sporty aspirations. Powered by a 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder (250 hp, 277 lb-ft), it’s paired with a seven-speed automatic, skipping a gear for smoother autocross shifts. The Lobo’s lowered suspension—0.5 inches front, 1.12 inches rear—enhances its stance, complemented by striking 19-inch turbofan wheels inspired by Ford’s rally heritage. A torque-vectoring rear differential, borrowed from the Maverick Tremor, and Focus ST brakes sharpen handling, making it a blast on twisty roads or autocross courses, especially in “Lobo Mode,” which dials back stability control for playful slides.
However, it’s not perfect. Acceleration to 60 mph takes 6.1 seconds, solid but not thrilling, and the all-season tires limit grip, with a 127-foot 60–0 mph stop. Payload (1,045 lbs) and towing (2,000 lbs) are modest, prioritizing style over work. Fuel economy is decent at 21/30/24 mpg (city/highway/combined). The interior boasts a 13.2-inch touchscreen with Sync 4, wireless Apple CarPlay, and vibrant Grabber Blue stitching, though high-spec models near $43,000 feel pricey for a compact.
Starting at $36,595, the Lobo is a canvas for customization, appealing to enthusiasts craving a factory-tuned street truck. It’s fun, stylish, and practical enough, but leaves room for a bolder ST variant.
This performance street truck gets a solid 5 Lambos!
